Excellent Day
Today was a most excellent day. I’m not really sure how it happened, but I got a ton of stuff done and had fun, too. I think part of it was due to the fact that I was avoiding spending time on the computer. Staring at the computer screen at work all day has really been tiring my eyes, so I’m trying not to do that in my free time too!
Every now and then, when I’m feeling like I’ve been overwhelmed with to-do lists, I try to make an I-did list, where I write down all of the things I actually get done as I do them and feel proud at the end of the day. So here’s what I did today!
Morning:
- Woke up early, without an alarm
- Sorted 4 piles of laundry and put the first load in the washer
- Made cinnamon toast for me and Nick
- Took a shower (hey, it’s the weekend!)
- Watched Little Women while I folded laundry and ran more loads. The movie was good! Makes me want to read the book now =) I was happy that in the end, Jo got everything she ever wanted.
- Did some dishes
Afternoon:
- Made lunch for me and Nick (ok, it was just soup, but still)
- Read some of The Renaissance Soul
- Got sleepy, took a nap!
- Finished reading The Renaissance Soul
- Played Naruto Ultimate Ninja Storm
- Went for a swim with Nick, pool was a great temperature!
Evening:
- Made and ate dinner with Nick
- Sat down and made a Focus Points book, and notes on my wall to help me stay focused (Focus Points are part of The Renaissance Soul book, about four interests you choose to focus on at a time)
- Baked chocolate chip cookies
Now what am I supposed to do? Haha. Actually, on weeknights I usually go to bed at 9:15-9:30, so maybe I should just start getting ready for bed. I feel so proud of myself for getting so much done today! I’m also really excited to start working on my focus points tomorrow. I’ve only scheduled a total of 25 hours a week, including weekends, to go towards my Focus Points (and one of my points is to do things that are fun and relaxing), so hopefully that will be easy to manage.
If you’re curious, the Focus Points I’ve chosen for now are Photography (learning how to use my new camera and become a semi-skilled photographer), Comic (work on the web comic I am drawing, written by Matt Marcus), Blog (maintaining and promoting this blog!) and Play (spending time doing relaxing things so I don’t burn out, tire my eyes, or get overwhelmed by work). I think those should serve me well until July 22, when I leave my internship and have copious amounts of time every day =) Then I might switch out Play for Web Projects (redesigning Japanotes, launching Causeplay, redesigning my portfolio site). Really I just want to make sure I don’t take on too much right now and overwhelm myself, or spend too much time at the computer in addition to work.
Here’s hoping tomorrow is equally as productive as today! And if not, I hope I feel confident in throwing in the towel and watching all 4 of the movies I have left checked out from the library =D

Cool! I’ve been name dropped! Love the blog Natalie.
Thanks a bunch! =D
