Wanted: Favorite ModCloth Items of the Week
04.16.2010
It’s the Friday Favorite ModCloth, picking out the favorites so you don’t have to! (?)
Blue Steel
- World Music Day Shorts – The pattern makes these shorts unique, but they also have great details — like a bunch of tiny pleats by the pockets!
- City Of Angels Ring – This is such a pretty little ring. I’m a sucker for the wing motif! I’ve never had a tall ring like this, are they comfortable? Some reviews say the metal is soft, so you’d have to be careful with this one.
- Summer Friday Top – I love the pleats on the top half of this shirt! This one looks super comfortable.
- Latitude and Longitude Dress – I really love the style of this dress. It’s a little old fashioned, a little trendy, and totally cute!
- Texas Blue Step Shirt – Great color, length, sleeves, and pockets.
- Indie Darling Dress – A sweet little dress with lots of charming details.
- School House Frock – I love the dressy/business aspect of this dress. You could wear it to work, church, or school!
- Blue Corn Moon Cardigan – I’m a sucker for cardigans. This one is short sleeved, which makes it way cuter than all of my long-sleeved ones. Unfortunately, I usually wear a cardigan because I’m freezing in the office, so I probably wouldn’t get to wear this one very often.
Summer Block Party
- The Parade Dress – This dress looks like something the leading lady of a 1950′s musical would wear! The unusual neckline really makes it.
- Front of the Line Dress – So cute! I love polkadots, and that huge bow is adorable.
- Ribbon Candy Dress – This dress is so interesting! Tons of colors and a neat texture/pattern. The detached part of the top and the rope tie add some nice details.
- Can’t Stop Smiling Dress – This dress would definitely make me smile! I’m crazy about the skirt part, but the bodice of the skirt seems a little plain and reviewers have said the fabric is thin. The sleeves are really cute though.
- Shuffleboard Dress – There’s something I just love about this dress.
- Canvassing Backpack in Neighborhood – I have a long history of carrying red purses, for some reason, and this would make a nice addition to that legacy! It’s such a cute size, it would be really versatile!
- Stayton Dress – Too cute! I’m not sure if I could pull this off outside of a costume party.. but I love how cute it is!
- The Versatile Tank in Daffodil – There’s nothing special about this tank (except its awesome bright yellow color), but I’ve been noticing I don’t have a lot of base items in my wardrobe. I mostly have items that can only be worn with one other item in my closet. Something like this would go with lots of things!
Pretty Lady
- Notes of Appalachia Dress – This kind of dress just makes me sigh! So dainty and beautiful. I love the neckline and the details at the hem!
- Tastemaker Dress – Another Lucy-style housemaker dress =) Not wild about the off-white color though.
- Savannah Sweetness Top – Such a sweet, darling top! Poofy sleeves and ruffles! I’m not wild about the peachy-pink color, but the style is super cute. I wonder how long it is though.. I can’t stand a too-short top.
- Twinkle, Twinkle Pretty Dress – This dress sure it pretty! A little too pretty for anything but a party, though. It even has sparkles!
- Chasing Water-frills Dress – Wow! Cool, artsy dress =) This looks like something they would make on Project Runway! I love the color, too.
- Miss Issippi Dress in Delta – I like this simple dress. The colors work nicely together, and the pinstripe is a nice touch, but the top looks a little cheap. Everyone says the belt is super long as well!
- Dress About Town in Shopping Trip – This dress is unusual. It’s cut like a simple party dress, but the material is more for everyday wear. This would make a great base dress for accessorizing with a cardigan and jewelry.

I think that since you’re in Texas, it only makes sense for you to get that Texas Blue Step Shirt.
I’ve had my eye on that Can’t Stop Smiling Dress for a while. The beautiful pleats and the sleeves! But I also sort of feel like it’s doing too much at once, with the pleats, sleeves, polka dots, bold red… Maybe? I’m so indecisive. The skirt reminds me of another pleated gray skirt they had once (if only I tagged my tumblog I’d be able to find it -_-)
I think one of my favorites ever is the Windy City Dress.
That’s true.. we haven’t really embraced anything “Texas” yet! Being in Austin makes a bit of a difference though…. But basically I just ought to buy one of those button up shirts with cute sleeves and get it over with =) I post at least 2 like every week!
I keep forgetting to put my favorites at the end of the post! I’d have to say mine are the Latitude and Longitude Dress, and the Shuffleboard Dress. I agree that the Smiling dress has a little bit too much going on. Maybe if it was just the skirt and you could wear it with cute white blouse?
Just looked at the Windy City Dress, so glamorous!!
