Wanted: Favorite ModCloth Items of the Week
I’m a big fan of indie/vintage clothing retail site, ModCloth, and I’ve decided to devote Friday posts to my favorite new ModCloth items of the week! Granted, I’ve only bought one item from ModCloth, and it will be a quite a while before I can afford another… But I find their clothes super cute and inspiring and just plain fun to look at. So here’s this week’s favorite ModCloth picks, separated into three fun categories!
Bright and Fun:
- Creative Writing Cardigan in Fiction
- Deconstructed Tank
- Here’s the Scoop Neck Dress
- Walk This Ray Sandal
- Organic Tokyo Tote
- Creative Writing Cardigan in Fiction – I love pink, especially raspberry pink, and I’m constantly cold, so another sweater is always welcome in my closet! I have a black cardigan from Old Navy that is on the longer side like this, and I love it! I’d like to experiment with more ultra-long clothes.
- Deconstructed Tank – The only pattern I like more than big, bold stripes is polka-dots! The fabric looks a little on the thin side though.
- Here’s the Scoop Neck Dress – Wait.. ultra-long, big, bold stripes, and it’s a dress? *mind explodes* I love how super-80′s this looks. The tiny pocket seems a little unnecessary though.
- Walk This Ray Sandals – Ok, the last thing I need is another pair of crazy, bright-colored shoes that are too uncomfortable to wear.. but the reviews describe these shoes as “oddly comfortable”! If only they had my size…
- Organic Tokyo Tote – As a former Tokyo dweller and an eco-friendly shopper, I am all about this Tokyo Tote! It features all the major Tokyo prefectures, with the train loop connecting the ones in the middle! I’m proud to say I’ve made a stop in nearly all the places listed on that train route! If I bought one, I would have to add a little dot for Nishi-Kawaguchi, my home sweet prefecture.
Light and Breezy Summer Style:
- Lake House Blouse
- Black to Basics Dress
- Skirt So Good
- Gilded Garland Necklace
- Daydreamer Top
- Buttermilk Falls Shoe
- Catamaran Shirt
- Lake House Blouse – I love the breezy, summery look of this shirt! It has so many cute details, like the cuffed sleeves and pockets, and I love the way the tie makes it fitted in the waist.
- Black to Basics Dress – This dress looks so comfortable, but so classy! Love the lapels.
- Skirt So Good – One clothing item I don’t own is a casual skirt. I love wearing dresses in the summer, but I only have so many. I’d love a cute, casual skirt like this. Love that bow!
- Gilded Garland Dress – These little golden flowers are so dainty and detailed, they would dress up any outfit!
- Daydreamer Top – I really like the unusual sleeve-length on this shirt, and the grid pattern you can only see up-close.
- Buttermilk Falls Shoe – I love love love the color combination on these shoes! And they have just a tiny bit of a heel, which makes them dressier than flats! Unfortunately, one reviewer said they’re very uncomfortable. Oh, the tragedy of a cute, but uncomfortable shoe!
- Catamaran Shirt – A bit like the Lake House Blouse, but not fitted. Love all the little buttoned-up parts on the sides!
Classy Lady:
- Un-twill We Meet Again Dress
- The Dharma Dress
- The Madicken Dress
- Un-twill We Meet Again Dress – This dress looks so classy, and very sturdy! If I were going to wear a super-skinny dress like this, I’d feel better knowing it’s made of a solid material, rather than something like satin.
- The Dharma Dress – Ok, I’ll admit I only looked at this dress because I’m a huge Lost fan, but it turned out to be super cute! It reminds me a lot of the Dress Side Story dress.
- The Madicken Dress – This is the kind of dress that is so fancy and fashionable, I’m not sure I could pull it off! Just look at the size of those shoulder ruffles! I have the perfect pair of brown heels to go with it though….
And that’s it for the first edition of Favorite ModCloth Items of the Week! Did you have fun looking at all the pictures? I had to get a special WordPress plugin to make it happen! If you got to pick one item from this whole list, which would you pick? I guess I would pick the Skirt So Good, or the Lake House Blouse. I’m in a summery mood! Good thing I live in Texas! =)

Ahh I love ModCloth…I check it out every day, but I haven’t bought anything yet. It’s just so lovely to look at, I agree. I love that pink of your first cardigan! And I definitely was drawn to that Tokyo tote too
You should check out designer Keiko Lynn, if you haven’t! She’s a big fan of ModCloth and vice versa…ModCloth even named a dress after her. I discovered her 1st year of college so I’ve sort of followed her through her success and hard times; I feel so attached to her! Her blog is at http://keikolynn.blogspot.com/ and there’s a link to her store Postlapsaria, and to all her sponsors (who are pretty awesome too). I’ve definitely splurged on some of her clothing, but this year she’s also started selling items from her own closet (often vintage finds) and these tend to be less expensive. Oh, also for inspiration, polyvore.com is a cool site to explore. It’s all the rage these days. You basically can browse through tons and tons of clothing and various accessories to create a collage of your ideal look/collection.
Anyway, love the way you organized and formatted this post! Keep it up!
Keiko Lynn has a cool blog! I always see ModCloth featuring different bloggers, and naming pieces after them, but I haven’t started following any. I wish I had enough cute clothes to take a photo of my cute outfit every day! =) She has such a cute look!
Thanks for appreciating the formatting of this post, hahahaha. I didn’t want it to be too overwhelming.. but there had to be pictures and links and descriptions! I think I’m going to do this every Friday! Too bad most of the clothes on the list are sold out by then, haha.
Hi Natalie!
